SEO keyword density

Postby SimonWpt » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:54 am

Hi,

I am using Pro v10.00 and try to check the keyword density of any page. I got no result:-(

I did the following:

  1. Check "Enable keyword density message"
  2. All flags are set
  3. "Tools"->"Validate"->"Search engines messages only"

I got some seo-tips, but no keyword density infos:-(

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble. If you enable spell-checking, does it work?

Strange. Are you looking in the "Search Engine" category in the "Grouped" tab of the Results Window for a message that starts with "Keyword densisty:"?

If I do a "Search engine only messages" check with spelling and the keyword density message enabled, then I can see the keyword density message.

Perhaps it is a locale problem? Have a look to the screenshots.

Hello Bertram,

The settings look good.

A couple things to try:

1. If you use File->Open from the Web to open http://www.htmlvalidator.com/, does it work? Does the keyword density message display on other documents?

2. Can you right-click in the Results Window, choose Copy Messages to Clipboard->In Text Format and paste them here so I can see what messages are being generated?

3. Can you send your document, via attachment, to support at htmlvalidator dot com? I will try it on your document and see if I can reproduce the problem.

Thank you.

I was able to fix a bug that caused the keyword density message not to display if spell checking was not enabled, but I don't think this is the cause of this reported issue. This fix will be in the next update.

I still need some assistance with this issue because I cannot reproduce it (remember - spell checking must be ON until the fix is released).

If you can reproduce it, I'd like some help in getting more information about it. I'd like to connect to your computer, check some settings, and see it happen. If you will let me do this, then please contact me via support at htmlvalidator dot com and I will send you a link to a program that you can run that will let me connect to your computer and investigate further. Thank you!

I was able to connect to a customer's computer who was having this problem and found it to be that the comment messages had been disabled.

In the next update, disabling (not showing) comment messages won't affect the keyword density message as it has it's own dedicated option to control it.
