Command line inconsistency

Postby roedygr » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:56 am

The command line options behave inconsistently when HTML Validator is already running and when it is just starting.

The problem is when it is already running, it ignores the current directory, and presumes files on the command line are being specified relative to the current directory in effect at the time it was first loaded. There needs to be a way it interprets subsequent command lines in the context of the current directory. Even when you use absolute filenames, it still seems unable to find them if HTML Validator is already loaded.

(P.S. Validator should be in the spell check list of legal words).

Re: Command line inconsistency

Hello,

Yes, I think I can understand this issue. If CSE HTML Validator is running, then it may try to pass the command to the running instance and the running instance may interpret non-absolute paths with a different working/current directory, but I don't know why absolute/full paths wouldn't be interepreted properly. Can you give me an example of it not interpreting a command line properly when an instance of CSE HTML Validator is already running and absolute paths are used? Thank you.
