Shell problems

Postby mginter » Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:22 pm

In the Shell 1 and Shell 2 window panes, there is a thin dotted line that I moved up to the top, and now I cannot get to the main browser because it is collapsed and seems to be gone. I am panicking trying to restore this. What do I need to do? Can you please help?

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble. It looks like the Shell splitter can indeed get "stuck" if it is dragged too high. This should be fixed in the upcoming v10.01 update.

You can work around this by changing the value of "HorzSplit1Position" and "HorzSplit1Position2" in the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AI Internet Solutions\CSE HTML Validator v4\Editor\Interface" using the Registry Editor. Please try changing the values to 20 if the value is below 20 (the value that is causing the problem is probably 0).

I didn't expect to get a reply this soon. I thought for sure that I was just missing something. My Shell 2 has been "stuck" for almost a year now, but since I had the other shell I didn't worry about it too much. I looked at it again this morning and forgot not to raise it too high. Plus, when I did raise it the interface seemed to be telling me that there was space left there, so I thought I was okay. Of course, I was wrong. I didn't want to use "CNTRL + O" to open every file, so I just uninstalled and reinstalled.

One more question. In the previous version, I changed the font in the editor. Has this ability been removed in version 10? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

Yes, I think that should work if you did a "full uninstall", otherwise the problematic settings might be kept.

No. It has not been removed. Please see the "Editor->Fonts and Colors" options page in the Options->Editor Options. There should be a "Choose Font" button that you can use to change the font.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions.
