spell check anomaly

This is not a bug but an annoyance that slows down spell checking.

I hit F7. the cursor then flits down the screen like a butterfly, alighting for a fraction of a second on each instance of the word "character" or "permanent". It does not complain they are not spelled correctly. Why is it doing that? Could it to stop?

Hello,

Can you send me a document or point me to a URL that I can use to reproduce this issue by running the spell checker with F7? I don't recall seeing this behavior before.
