For some reason HTML Validator thinks the ⟬ hex entity in invalid. Oddly it permits ones both smaller and bigger.

It is the equivalent of the new ⟬ entity in HTML 5: left white tortoise shell bracket

Thanks and sorry for the trouble.. I will look into this for the next major version.

In the mean time, you can check the "Allow numeric references 0-65536" option in the Validator Engine Options, Validator 2 tab and it should accept it.

I've updated the list of Unicode ranges CSE HTML Validator sees as valid for the next release. This list comes from:
http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/UnicodeData.txt

This should fix this issue. Thanks for reporting it!
