IfI attempt to open too many files in HTML Validator, it freezes.
Other preferable behaviours include:
1. refuse to load any of the files.
2. load some safe subset of the files, and warn me It did not get everything.
3. load one file at a time, validate it. If it has no errors/warnings, discard it, and keep going until you have a safe complement of files that need work.

Re: overflow freeze
Agree with your suggestions for graceful degradation. What have you found to be "too many files"?

Re: overflow freeze
There are no set limits that I'm aware of when opening files.
As Lou asked, I'd like to know what is "too many"? Do you have a specific number as that would be helpful. I could then try to reproduce this issue by opening that many files.
