Tracking CSS issues batch wizard

Postby ajtruckle » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:47 am

Hello

If I open a local file in the regular editor and do a full scan it displays (for example):

Message in line 27 at character 2: (Styles->Good Style) When a background color is defined, it is recommended that a foreground color also be defined (by using the "color" property). This helps to avoid conflict with user-defined style sheets and to improve accessibility.

However, when I am running my whole site (several times) through the batch facility by specifying the root page in the target list I don't seem to get these types of errors displayed. I have checked all the options for style checking and they appear ticked.

Thank you for clarification.

Hi Andrew,

In the Batch Wizard Options, do you have "All" as the validation mode selected with the Validator tool? Perhaps you are limiting the Batch Wizard to just errors and warnings or some other validation mode?

Yes, it certainly is, although interestingly CSS does not show in the droplist. It is certainly ticked on the regular editor.

I just tried doing a process again and I still get no errors.

Hi Andrew,

The "Validator" tool includes CSS so it should check it.

Another possibility is that you have the option to include message reports only for documents containing errors or warnings. Please try unchecking that option and see if that message appears.
