PHP syntax checking

Postby Lou » Wed Apr 07, 2010 11:11 am

I linked a php.exe to check syntax and it seem to work fine. New toy playing with someone else's software.

What is weird is that if under options if I turn CSS checking off I get "The PHP output file(s) are missing or blank. Is PHP and all its supporting files installed correctly?" If I turn CSS checking on (checked) that message does not appear.

I do find it an annoyance that I have to turn nsgmls off so the false errors messages don't fill the screen.

Hi Lou,

It would help to help the document (or a sample document) that reproduces this problem. Can you supply one and email it to me? Thanks!

Albert, You must be under the delusion that the reported CSS/non-CSS oddity is reproducible. I just tried the same file again and no problem.

I will watch and let you know. Needless to say I saw the error several times trying to figure when it showed up. Oh well.

Thanks Lou. Also, with problems like this, I often suspect anti-virus or anti-malware programs, as they can interfere (maybe one is locking it in some way when it's trying to check it). You may want to try turning yours off and seeing if that helps, if you run into the problem again.

If it does appear to be anti-virus doing some type of temporary lock, then perhaps I could have CSE HTML Validator wait half a second and then try to access the file again... hmmmmm... but it would be much easier if I could reproduce this!
