This is why you should use Preview Files for your CSS preview. TopStyle will apply your CSS to the HTML being preview'ed without the need to constantly save the CSS again and again.

Adding those different HTML pages to the Preview Files and then switching between them while you're editing your CSS doc (without the need to activate another document tab) really is the way to go. It prevents you from saving your CSS doc again and again.

Adding the preview files for each project is work even though it can be partially automated, selecting preview files is work, selecting tabs is a single mouse click.

My threshold for defining 'work' is admittedly low :)

If I'm working on a few different things at once, I don't want to have to read the list and determine which index.html to use.
