Code collapse isn't working in html editor

Postby kgibbs » Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:17 pm

Hello, I'm testing TopStyle for the first time.

I'm currently using Dreamweaver, but looking for an internal preview process with higher accuracy to streamline the GUI development for eCommerce templates. This looks very promising; however, I'm used to working tightly focused on the relevant code at the time by collapsing all other code.

To test:
I opened an existing css document - code collapse works great!
I opened an existing html document - code collapse isn't functional!

How do I make code collapse functional for html documents?

Note: The code collapse feature is enabled for html documents but only shows a solid line all the way down in front of line numbers. There isn't any (+ or -) to collapse code like with css documents.

Thank you,
Kurt

TopStyle collapses CSS rules only. This is by design, because TopStyle is primarily a CSS editor.

Ok, and thanks for pointing this out!

TIP: Future first time users might appreciate making this a little clearer.
TIP: TopStyle would be a primary html editor as well if code collapse was available for both CSS an HTML!

FYI: As the director of technical operations for our company, I keep close tabs on efficiency workflow strategies. Given proven bottom line benefits, I’ve made code collapse a policy to have in all language editors available to all our coders.

Summary: I really like TopStyle as I’ve tested so far. It offers a simplistic streamlined approach no other editor I’ve come across compares to. With a few tweaks here and there, I easily see TopStyle leading the industry in a new direction for workflow efficiency.
