RSS validation

Postby MikeGale » Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:16 pm

I've currently dropped using a tool to generate RSS. I'm finding it hard inspecting by eye. I've seen other people asking about an RSS checker.

Are there any plans to incorporate a feed checker in future?

It's an interesting idea that could be done. However, I don't believe there's much demand for it in CSE HTML Validator and there are online RSS checkers that should work well. Here is one:

By the way, I use this tool to create our feeds:

It's a matter of balance

Hi Albert,

Thanks for that.

At present I suspect most users are happy with the standard packaged functionality. I can see feeds being part of a wider structure, which differs between publishers. Demand would be higher, in that world.

(A lot of bloggers have never published before and are delighted with an all in one solution, irrespective of limited markup. Some of those more used to coding the details want something that integrates with their existing workflows.)

From a development viewpoint it's about ease of doing it versus return. (If you can easily plug in a different document type then...)
