Do you mean there is a crash or access violation? If it is just "hanging" (a slow shutdown) then it is possible it is the link checker waiting to exit (if it hasn't already checked all the links) or it could be a program interfering with it. Some 3rd party anti-virus and anti-malware programs have been known to interfere with CSE HTML Validator (among other programs), although it is usually on startup that they've been known to cause problems.

If the BETA is crashing, how often does it crash? Can you compare the frequency of the shutdown problem to v10.02 (more or less frequent)? What background security programs are you running?
