More options for cmdlineprocessor.exe

Postby Martin_ » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:31 am

Hi,

I wrote a PHP-script to generate live validation reports with cmdlineprocessor.exe on my Server.

2 Arguments would have made my task a lot easier.
- One to disable the automatic start of notepad after the validation.
- One to specify the target-location for the generated reports.

Just a small suggestion...

Thanks for the suggestions. I will make a note of them and see if I can add them in a future version.

You can disable Notepad from opening by going to the Validator Engine Options, Classic tab and setting these options:
Check: Don't use output file; use .val files
Check: Never open viewer with .val files

Not as flexible as what you suggest, but the above might help. Note that it will create ".val" files instead of using the "Output file". See the documentation for more information.

An alternative might also be to specify a "dummy" output viewer that doesn't do anything.

I've now added a "-v0" option to not open the viewer and a "-outputfile" option so that you can specify/override the default output file. This will be in the first BETA of CSE HTML Validator v9.0.

If you are creating Batch Wizard reports (I don't think you are), then you can already override the default output report file for each target list by specifying the HTML report filename in the Target List Options tab of the Batch Wizard.

Now that's what I call customer focus.
Thank you very much.
