Feature Request - Set font and font size

Postby Fred » Tue Apr 08, 2008 1:08 am

I have a feature-request :

An option to to set the font (and size) for the output-windows.

As screen-resolutions get higher and higher, the fonts get smaller
and smaller and I would like to be able to compensate that by setting
a bigger font (size).

I hope you will consider this, thank you.

Hi Fred,

Have you tried changing the font to a more readable one? You can't change the size but you may be able to change the font to something that works better for you. The option is in the HTML and Results tab of the Editor Options.

Another possibility is to use the OS settings to increase font size. If you're using Vista, I think there will be more and better options, but I haven't investigated these options much.

Hi Albert,

I'm sorry, I have overlooked that this option exists after all.
I searched for it, but obviously not hard enough, next time, I
will ask you first. :)

I'm using Windows XP, I will experiment a bit with the OS settings
to increase the font size.

Thanks,
Fred.

No problem... just be careful with those OS settings for increasing font size. I've found that they may cause various issues and have some bad side-effects since many applications may not display as intended with larger fonts.

If you are running higher resolution and it is hard to read, then you may want to also consider running at a lower resolutions (though things will not be as sharp if using an LCD monitor since it will be stretched) or upgrading the display size (like from 20 inches to 22 inches but keeping the same resolution). Fortunately my eyes are good enough that this hasn't become an issue yet for me. :)
