batch freeze

I when I do a batch validate, the foreground batch validator becomes totally unresponsive. I can't minimise it. I can't move it. I can't see the desktop behind it.

I know you decided to make it unable to validate in order to avoid some interaction with the batch, but I think you went too far in freezing it.

I would like it if I could use it while the batch were humming away.

Surely it would be possible to run them in separate address spaces.
