Re: CSE HTML Validator Professional v10.00 BETA Now Available

Hi Albert,

I made some time today to test the BETA. Results:

I ran maybe a half dozen batch files, which tested all in all a few hundred pages. Files are htm, aspx, js, css.

I didn't notice anything untoward. (There were a couple of odd things in a test site which I haven't investigated further. It did seem to wait on bit on the last link check in each case, I didn't investigate further.)

These sites (except one) are already tested so I expect them to come up clear, other than a little link rot.

I did notice a few warnings about styles having background and foreground too close in colour or brightness. These are deliberate designs (intended to be subtle) so I'm not concerned. You might get a few comments about that.

So it's basically nothing to report .

Thanks for checking it out!

There are some new color contrast checks when accessibility checking is enabled. I wonder if it would be a good idea to create a way to ignore checks with specific colors when it is deliberate? What do you think? A big enough issue that it would be useful to enough people?

Let me think about that for a day or two.

Maybe some other testers have observations too.

Sure, no problem.

As you said, I should also wait to see if I get any other feedback on this to see if it's useful enough to implement. Thanks.

Re: CSE HTML Validator Professional v10 BETA & RC Now Availa

Albert I have a licensing question about V10. The way the latest RC announcement above this is worded I got the impression that you are now issuing upgrade licenses for V10. So I went to the upgrade page, entered my email and it reported that I'm qualified for a pro upgrade for $49. So far so good. My question is, it didn't say what I'd be upgrading to? V9 or V10? I only need a single user license so I wouldn't want to purchase another license for V9.

Thanks,
John

Yes, that's right.

I'm sorry for the confusion. All the upgrades purchased now will include v10.

Thank you!

Hello,

Any upgrades purchased now will also be valid for v10. That has been true for awhile now. Thanks!
