Spell Check issue

Postby MikeGale » Tue Jun 07, 2005 9:43 pm

I tested a page (integrated browser) and got a spurious spelling error.

This originated in a commented out section which structurally is like:

<!-- <div id="DE52b56055-92fc-4e7a-9967-58bd3204e5d1" class="IdentifiedAsSpellingError"><h3>Processing</h3></div> -->

The spell checker identified each instance of that class-name inside the div as an error.

Hi Mike,

There are some spelling options in the Validator Engine Options->Validator 1 Tab. If you don't want to check the spelling in comments during validations, then you can uncheck the Check spelling in comments option. CSE won't parse HTML in comments so it won't ignore the value of the "class" attribute when it's doing a spell check.

Another option might be to add the class-name to the user dictionary.

Thanks for that.

My intuitive expectation was that markup is parsed the same whether commented or not. (I've switched off spell checking within comments.)
