autocompletion.

I sometimes make a goof like this:

<p> ..... <p>

or

<span class="x"> .... <span>

When I go to correct, autocompletion barges in with some off-the-wall correction. Please turn it off when there is xxx> to the right of the insertion point.

Thanks. I believe this should be improved now, by requiring the '<' character to have immediately been typed just before the '/' character. Previously, it would just look to see if there was an existing '<' character before the '/' character and it did not matter whether '<' was just typed before '/'.

I prefer the behavior in DW where you can type <span> (some code here) and you don't get the closing tag until you type "</".

Is there a way to turn off auto complete? I just use CSE for minor edits after validation so it's more of an annoyance than feature.

You can do that in the v10 BETA. There are two end tag completion options in the Editor Options. You can pick both, none, or one of them. If you want DW's method, then enable "Auto-complete end tags" and disable "Auto-type end tags".
