Beta hangs on first start

I installed the beta and it locked up on the first start.

These are the steps done:

a - downloaded and installed the beta
b - launched the beta at end of install
c - copied and pasted the registration information
d - the registration was accepted
e - saw a message in red in the status bar that a prior page was no longer available (a reference to a page I had previously validated with CSE version 8 )
f - the program was then non-responsive ... totally locked
g - killed the program from the task manager
h - restarted the beta
i - received the same message in red in the status bar (point e above) and received a dialog box with the same message

I suspect that the dialog box was simply hidden behind the main window due to the processing of the registration information.

I then ran through a number of pages that I had previously validated with CSE 8 ... it all appeared to work well.

Thanks for the report. I wonder if there was a modal tip window being displayed (maybe the startup tips)? It should be non-modal in future BETAs as it seems to cause some "locking" problems, so I hope that was the case here, but you didn't mention a tip window.

If you are able to easily reproduce the locking issue, then please let me know if it involves a tip window.
