Received from AI Internet Solutions

"We noticed that this license was not upgraded to v10. We'd really
like to know why. We take user feedback seriously!

Please reply to this email to let us know why you did not upgrade to
CSE HTML Validator v10. ......

You may also want to post your comments or feedback in our forum:"

I am using version 6.5 of CSE validator because every upgrade since
then has been chargeable. V6.5 works just fine, it is a registered copy
that I paid for. I see no reason to shell out more money to buy
functionality that I do not need or cosmetic improvements. Having
saved on four upgrades I reckon my savings are more than I paid
for the original registration.

Hello JG,

Thank you for your feedback. I understand about not upgrading because the previous version is working fine, but be sure to look at all the new stuff in CSE HTML Validator:
http://www.htmlvalidator.com/htmlval/history.html

Quite a bit had been added, changed, improved, and updated since v6.5.

Thank you!

Why I did not Upgrade?

You sent me an E-mail asking me to explain why I did not upgrade. I have upgraded 3 or four times now, over the past several years and each time have to pay a fee. I do not think the upgrades are worth the cost. I know it is becoming common practice for software vendors to charge large fees for upgrading. I have decided not to participate in the "Upgrade game" anymore.

The vendors I am currently dealing with all offer free upgrades for their products.

That is my answer to your question.

Respectfully,

Chuck

HI Chuck,

Thank you for your feedback.

However, please note that are upgrade prices are much less than new license prices. A lot of work goes into updating and improving CSE HTML Validator and upgrade fees support that work and development. However I do understand that for some people, upgrades may not be worth the cost.
