Updating HTML Tidy

Is there ever a need to update the HTML Tidy executable that comes with CSE HTML Validator? The date on tidy.exe that came with my Validator 8 files is 4/5/2006 and there have been some updates since then. I notice, though, that the latest tidy.exe has a much smaller file size than the one date 4/5/2006.

If you are using the Format & Fix/HTML Tidy tool, you can try replacing it with an updated version. Rename the old EXE though in case you need to go back to it.

You may want to replace it if you think the newer one might address any issues or problems you are having.

I will investigate updating the HTML Tidy EXE for the next release.
