Search & replace across many files

Postby markwolk » Mon Jul 04, 2005 3:28 am

Hi there, I am using the CSE Lite edition and I would not consider any other HTML editor than the CSE! - However I cannot do a search & replace across several files at once. Does any paid edition of CSE have that ability? I tried http://www.textpad.com/ (which BTW claims that it integrates with the CSE Editor) and http://www.editplus.com/ - but neither of them does the job seamlessly. Homesite works very well, but I am a bit reluctant to pay $99 for it, as the search & replace function is the only one I am likely to use. - Do I have any other option than buying Homesite?

Hi Mark,

CSE HTML Validator Std/Pro v7.0 can search and search/replace across all open files. This is a new feature added to v7.0 and will likely be in the next lite edition.

If you need a more powerful search/replace program then I recommend that you try the free ReplaceEm program listed here:

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I'll try the ReplaceEm. The first good thing about it is that it is freeware...

:P Well, 6 months later, I'd like to say that Replacem is a great freeware and I'd recommend it to anyone. The only drawback is that it does not come with easy to understand instructions, and it takes some time to research how to use it properly for your needs.
