Links not checked with the batch wizard bad links report

Hi Albert,

I am wondering if it would be possible, to force CSE to check all links on a page.

Here is an example using the batch wizard.

89 links extracted; 2 bad, 0 warning, 84 good, 3 not checked, 0 excluded, 2 in this link report.

Why would I get 3 links not checked here?

I can't remember if this was discuss before.

Hi Daniel,

CSE HTML Validator can't check certain types of links. Do you know what these links were? For example, HTTPS links are not checked in v8.0 because HTTPS is not supported in v8.04.

I now understand where the not checked count comes from.

With the batch wizard target list, I am using the following:
excludelinkstrings and checkonlylinkstrings.

The checkonlylinkstrings list is use when I am doing an internal links report.

The excludelinkstrings list is use when I am doing an external links report.

Note: None of my links were https. In the future, I will know that HTTPS links could be skipped.

Then it must have been another kind of link (like FTP) which CSE HTML Validator does not check.

The Internal links report gives for a document
65 links extracted; 4 bad, 0 warning, 54 good, 7 not checked, 0 excluded, 4 in this link report

The External links report gives for the same document
65 links extracted; 2 bad, 0 warning, 5 good, 58 not checked, 0 excluded, 2 in this link report

This makes sense, I have 58 internal links and 7 external links.
Which explains the not checked counts.

Ahhh.. OK... so it must have been due to the exclude and "include only" setting/options instead of the link type. I forgot about those. Most of the time it's probably due to the type of link though, since I suspect many people don't use those options.

I think there may be the potential of a very slight speed increase, but nothing that is worth doing or that is significant. There are better ways to increase speed, which I have thought about and may implement in a future version. For example, I'd like the Batch Wizard to take better advantage of multiple cores.
