cse90.exe error

Postby sgeddry » Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:31 pm

I purchased Validator 9.0 about two months ago. It was working well until two days ago when I could no longer open the program. I receive a message that says cse90.exe file cannot be found. I did not move any files. Also, the day before I receive this message I could not view my page in the browser. Could these things be related? How do I fix them? Please try not to be too technical with you reply. Thank you.

Hello,

It is possible the file somehow got deleted or moved by accident. Maybe a security program like an antivirus was updated and the update caused a false positive which therefore caused the security program to remove or move cse90.exe. In any case, the first thing I would try to do with missing files is to just reinstall CSE HTML Validator over your current installation so any missing files will be restored.

It is possible that whatever caused this problem is related to your other issue.

You might also want to check your disk for errors and corruption by looking at the properties of your drive (like from Windows Explorer), going to the Tools tab, and choosing "Check Now". I hope this helps.

How can I reinstall Validator? I bought it and downloaded it from your site. I don't have the software. Will I be allowed to download it again?

I reinstalled the Validator and it seems to be working. However, I still have the problem of not being able to view my page in the browser. It comes up for a second then disappears leaving a blank page with a small white box in the upper left corner that displays the temperature. I am using Internet Explorer 8.

Do you mean the integrated web browser in CSE HTML Validator? It must be something in your page, like a script, that is causing that to happen. Without seeing the source of the page, I can't really know.

Yes, I mean the integrated web browser. I can't open any pages in the web browser and these are pages that have been opened many times before. Is there a way I can show you the source of the page? If you look at my webpage you can view the source. It's www.rpc.petfinder.com.

I'm sorry for the delay. Is petfinder.com your site? I pulled it up in IE and it makes strange "clicking noises" for reasons unknown. I will load a page and it will click normally, but then a bit after the page loads, it starts clicking for a couple seconds. I suspect it is something to do with the scripts but I haven't taken an look at them.

I tried to reproduce this issue with the page at http://www.rpc.petfinder.com but couldn't. The page displayed fine except for the image not appearing (the link checker seems to indicate this is a timeout issue after the image ""../fotos/ME44/ME44.9814431-1-x.jpg"" is redirected to "http://photos.petfinder.com/fotos/ME44/ME44.9814431-1-x.jpg".

I can continue to try to reproduce this issue, but I would like detailed steps and any needed documents. If you are working from local files, then I'd like the local files (send them to support at htmlvalidator dot com), otherwise just a URL should be sufficient. Just let me know step-by-step what you are doing from the time you launch CSE HTML Validator, what files or URLs you are using, and your integrated web browser settings, like whether in preview mode or browse mode.
