nugatory save

I load a page. Hit f7 to spell check. There are no corrections. I hit close. It then asks me to save. It should not do that unless I have changed something.

Hello,

It is possible that it is making an automatic change.

When I did a test for this, I noticed it was automatically correcting DUal capitals. This could be the issue. You may want to disable that auto-correct option in the Spelling Options dialog.

Another possibility is that it is deleting trailing whitespace from one or more lines if your document contains a line (or more) that ends in whitespace. To make sure the problem isn't caused by this option, make sure the option to 'Leave Trailing Spaces' in the Editor Options (Editor->Other Editor page) is checked.

Future updates will disable the auto correction of DUal capitals when doing a spell check. I think this might be the cause of this issue. The current behavior of the spell checking component with the automatic correction without prompting of DUal capitals when doing a spell check is not acceptable in my view, so I've disabled it and reported it to the developer of the spell checker. Hopefully they will change it so that the user is prompted before making the correction, like how Microsoft Word works with the correction of DUal capitals during a spell check (Word prompts the user if it should make the correction).
