1The Batch Wizard lets you easily check/validate multiple files and/or URLs and will generate a neatly formatted HTML report with the results. The Batch Wizard can follow links to check an entire small to medium sized web site or part of a large one. It also includes a spell checker and link checker. The Batch Wizard is not included in the standard edition.
2The Configuration Editor lets you customize the validator messages, letting you change the text of many messages. You can also change the message type (for example, you can change a warning message to an error message). The Configuration Editor also lets you add your own validation messages, as well as new tags and attributes. The Configuration Editor is not included in the standard edition.
3The professional edition can output validation messages in XML format.
4A major upgrade is a change in version number of .1 or more, like from v6.5x to v7.0x or from v8.0x to v9.0x. A minor update is a change in version number of less than .1, like from v8.00 to v8.01 or from v9.01 to v9.02. All minor updates are free for all editions. Upgrade pricing is subject to change at any time.
The standard edition can be upgraded to the professional edition at any time by paying the difference in price.
