This is the first tab where you can change the editor options for HTML Validator's integrated editor.

Editor 1 Tab
Text Edit Options
| • | Right margin - Set this option to the number of characters where you would like the vertical right margin line drawn. This will help you keep your lines a certain length by providing a visual indicator of how long your lines are. For the right margin line to appear and to be visible, you must also have the right margin viewable using View->Editor->Right Margin. The default is 80 characters. |
| • | Tab width - The tab width in characters. The default is 4. |
| • | Indent width - The number of characters to indent or unindent when indenting or unindenting text. The default is 1. (New v9.02) |
| • | Focus time (ms) - When highlighting the line that the cursor is moving to, this option sets the amount of time (in milliseconds) to highlight the line. The default is 500 milliseconds (half a second). (New v9.02) |
Font and Colors
| • | Press the Choose Font button to change the font that is used in the editor. You can only select monospaced fonts. Monospaced fonts are fonts where all characters are of equal width. This is different from proportional fonts, where each character in a font may be of a different width. Proportional fonts cannot be used by CSE HTML Validator. The default is Courier New 10pt. |
| • | Press the Font Color button to change the editor font's color. Note that changing the color has an effect only if syntax highlighting is disabled or not available for the file type being edited. The default is navy. |
| • | Press the Background Color button to change the editor's background color. The default is white. |
| • | Press the Line Number Color button to change the color that line numbers are displayed with (if line numbers are visible). The default is black. |
| • | Press the Highlight Color button to change the current line highlight (background) color. The editor line that the cursor is currently on will have this background color if the Highlight current line option is enabled. (New v9.0) |
| • | Highlight current line - Check this box to highlight the current line that the cursor is on in the editor. The highlight (background) color can be changed by pressing the Highlight Color button. This option is enabled by default. (New v9.0) |
| • | Highlight focus line - Check this box to highlight the line that the cursor is moving to. For example, to highlight the line when clicking a validator message or a tag in the structure view and the cursor moves/jumps to the relevant source line. This makes it easier to visually locate the cursor and the point of interest. This option is enabled by default. (New v9.0) |
