This is where you can change the general options that affect CSE HTML Validator Pro's Batch Wizard. Note that the standard and lite editions do not support the Batch Wizard.

Tool To Use
Select the tool to use when processing the targets. You can only use one tool at a time. The default tool to use is the validator. More information about using the tools.
Validator Tool
When selecting the validator tool as the Tool To Use in the Batch Wizard Options General tab, you may be able to select an additional option that lets you further specify what type of validation (validation mode) you would like to perform, such as "errors only" or "errors and warnings only". You must be using a configuration file that supports this additional option or "normal" will be the only choice.
Spell Check Tool
The spell check tool may not ignore words contained between the open and end tag for elements that are set to "ignore to close" (normally the "script" and "style" elements), while the validator tool would ignore these words. This is normal operation.
Miscellaneous
| • | Max targets - Helps to control processing in some situations by limiting the processing to a maximum number of targets. For instance, when following links, you can set this to help keep the wizard from "going out of control" by validating too many documents. If your computer has trouble with large jobs, consider dividing large jobs into multiple smaller jobs with fewer targets. Note that the more memory and resources a computer has, the better large jobs will be handled. The default value is 1000. Possible values are 1 to 9999. The upper limit may be increased. |
| • | Max concurrent HTTP requests - Use this option to set the maximum number of concurrent HTTP requests made when the Batch Wizard has to download multiple URLs. Increasing this may speed up the downloading of URLs but may cause other problems, such as more stress on your computer and/or too many concurrent requests to one server. Decreasing this may slow down the downloading of URLs and may put less stress on your computer and the server. It is recommended that you use the default value unless there is a good reason to change it. The default is 10. Possible values are 1 to 100. |
| • | URL timeout (secs) - Use this option to set the maximum amount of time (in whole seconds--no decimal points) before a timeout occurs when the Batch Wizard is downloading a URL. It is recommended that you use the default value unless there is a good reason to change it. The default is 60. Possible values are 1 to 1000. |
| • | Wait time before each URL request (seconds) - Use this option to slow down requests made by the Batch Wizard. Before every URL request, the Batch Wizard will wait the amount of seconds specified here. This option is useful to reduce the load on the server that the requests are being made on. It can also be used to increase the amount of time that the server web logs will show activity from the Batch Wizard. The default is 0. Possible values are 0 to 1000. |
| • | After validating a target list, set process to 'No' for the targets with no errors, warnings, or bad links - Check this box to automatically set the process status to 'No' for targets that have no errors, warnings, or bad links after a target list is validated. This allows you to concentrate only on the documents that have problems and to go back and revalidate them without unnecessarily revalidating the targets that have no problems. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Automatically set the I flag to include subfolders when adding a folder target - Check this box if you want HTML Validator to automatically set the I flag (to include subfolders) when you add a folder target to the target list. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Automatically open HTML report after validating a target list - Check this box to automatically open an HTML report after it is generated. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Automatically AutoSize columns when a new target list is loaded - Check this option to automatically resize the list columns in the Target List tab when a new target list is loaded. Each column should be resized to completely fit the largest item in the column. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Double-clicking a target opens it in editor - Check this box to open file and URL targets in the editor when they are double-clicked in the target list. If unchecked, then the properties dialog box is opened for the target when a target is double-clicked. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Display verbose messages - Check this box to display more messages in the Batch Progress tab during list processing. If this box is unchecked, then only the more important messages will be displayed. You may want to enable this option for troubleshooting purposes. This option is not enabled by default. |
| • | When downloading URL targets, display errors for redirected URLs in the Batch Progress Tab - Check this box to display redirected URL messages as error messages, usually highlighted in red, in the Batch Progress tab during list processing. If this box is unchecked, then the redirected URL messages will still be generated but they will not be considered errors and will not be highlighted as such. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Show progress bar for Batch Wizard operations - Check this box to show the progress bar during certain Batch Wizard operations, such as validating. This option is enabled by default. |
| • | Automatically set the follow links option when targets are added - Check this box if you want the follow links option to automatically be set when a new target is added to the target list. This option is not enabled by default. |
