Re: Use of HTML5

I found that list really quite shocking! To call yourself a professional web developer and not be able to write valid code seems completely perverse! It's not as if it's a hard thing to do. I think Mike is correct about company managements. They are being bamboozled by B.S. wrapped-up in palatable d...

Re: HTML 5 is dead?

So, a headlong rush to convert XHTML strict to HTML5 is not that urgent?

CSE crashing Topstyle on page validation check... - Solv

Hi Albert, Can you try disabling Comodo and see if it still happens? Sorry for the delay in replying... Did this and no difference, still closing TS :( No error messages from Comodo at all - either on or off... Update: Placed a check-mark to isolate in Comodo's warning window, then clicked on [Skip]...

CSE crashing Topstyle on page validation check...

Hi Albert, As the title implies, this weird occurence has just started happening. What makes this stranger is that nothing has recently been updated. I'm using CSEV9.03 Std with TS 4.0.0.81 on Win7/64. I've just re-tried this to gather error messages and Comodo is now reporting that TS needs to be i...

Re: Button Bar settings

Hi Stefan,
Very simply, I removed all the validation buttons, except for CSE,
and then moved that single button over to the far right.

Button Bar settings

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or that I'm missing out a procedure.
When I add or remove buttons, and reposition them on the bar,
the new settings aren't being loaded on a TS4 re-start.

Re: Help link in editor - how useful?

Hi Albert, As I have voted "No", perhaps I should explain why. The real main advantage of your software is that it's "lean & mean", compared to the widely available bloatware. Another reason being that to find, and keep up to date with, Web links that are notoriously ephemeral in nature will only be...

Re: Accessibility Tips

As for display: hidden , I assume you mean display: none . With regards to the search engine issue, do you have any reputable information on this? For this purpose you must use display: none _not_ display: hidden ! They have different puposes in CSS, despite their similarity in labelling. Use of di...

Re: Accessibility Tips

Hello Albert, What is Accessibility? When a web site is accessible, it means that disabled users can use the web site as effectively as users who are not disabled. Perhaps this could be reworded to take the sting out of the dreaded A word. How about... When a Web site is accessible, it means that an...

Re: Accessibility Tips

(In fact if you look at the examples used to sell CSS, you can sometimes see how they've shaped the design to the technology, not to what they want to do!) I'd agree with this to a point... however, the biggest limiting factor has nearly always been "CSS hacks for IE". Floats and italics immediatel...

Re: Accessibility Tips

Not only are they the basis of putting intending designers right off accessibility, because of their complexity, they are no longer part of the specification. Let me clarify... Although these attributes are still within the HTML specs, their use has been more or less dropped from the accessibility ...

There is a problem with Firefox - it has to do with the files downloaded list.
If you don't regularly clear it, the system will slow down dramatically.

Re: Accessibility Tips

Hi Folks, * Use the "tabindex" attribute to provide a logical tab order when the default tab order is insufficient, but be careful when setting the order explicitly because it is easy to introduce usability bugs. "Tabindex" values can be from 0 to 32767 and do not have to be sequential or unique. Wh...

Re: New user - TopStyle speed question

I'm running Comodo Firewall/AV - does this have something to do with how slowly
the 900 files of my site take to appear in Topstyle's navigator, which can take up
to a minute to load at startup. That's the only speed issue I have.
