Not a problem; will just know it's a bug to be fixed in a future update.

Thanks for your rapid response!

Multi-Line Text in Header of Page (v19)

I have the following code in the style part of my document: *.WIDTH54P /* width of 2-column catalog tables with horizontal catalogs; */ { /* may contain one catalog per row */ WIDTH: 54%; } Why is this now considered an error? The error message is "Unexpected text after selector. This test should be...

Re: Link Checking - More Than 500

Right clicking on a link DOES work!

Might want to reword the dialog box that is displayed when there's more than 500 links so it specifically says to click on a link in the Results window.

Thanks.

Re: Link Checking - More Than 500

I don't know what version of HTML Validator you are using; I don't see that; I'm using v17.04.02 Pro.
I've attached a screen shot of what I see when I right click on the "Links" tab.

Link Checking - More Than 500

I am getting a warning about having over 500 links in a file. The error window says HTML Validator will only display bad links. It gives me the option to change that. While the info in the window mentions how to change this, I'm not finding the place to change it. I've attached a screenshot of the d...

Re: Link to Audio File (HTML 4.1 Transitional)

Changed the direction I want this to go. I'd like to link to a mp4 video file. I have VLC Media Player installed and the mime(?) type in Firefox set to play mp4 files using the VLC Web Player plugin. If I to a link to the file, I get an error message the file can not be played because it is corrupt ...

Link to Audio File (HTML 4.1 Transitional)

I am trying to insert a link to an audio file, but nothing seems to be working. What would be the coding necessary to accomplish the following: 1. Audio file would NOT play until user clicks on the file (no autostart). 2. Want only text to show as the link. 3. Use has VLC Media Player installed. 4. ...

Re: External CSS stylesheets

To be consistent, how about a zero following the word "Styles" in the Styles tab?

Re: External CSS stylesheets

No more questions - thanks for the interaction.
I wonder if somewhere (maybe in the Styles tab or in the Main tab?) there should be something to explain when you have it checking and nothing appears in the styles tab? Just a thought.

Thanks,

Re: External CSS stylesheets

Sorry, I'm still confused. I have the validator engine options set to check CSS. However, when I check a file, the styles tab is blank; nothing there. So what CSS does the validator check? I was hoping it could validate a file and determine there is an external style sheet and check the styles you u...

Re:

Hi Chris, You will have to open external CSS files separately to check them for errors. However, if you're crawling a site using the Batch Wizard , then it will in most cases also check the CSS file. When working with a document in the editor, CSE HTML Validator does not automatically go into other...

Re: Frames?

I am trying to create a local document that has a header (banner plus breadcrumbs) and then two columns. The left column would contain the table of contents; the right column would contain the actual document - in this case a very long document that has articles and sections (that's why the TofC!). ...

[Solved] Re: 'Target=' Error Message (HTML Validator v10.01

Hello, I'm sorry for the trouble. That message shouldn't be triggered with "_blank". Can you send me (to support at htmlvalidator . com) or post a sample document that reproduces the problem? Thank you. Oops, my bad! I just went back and revalidated the file. There was a wayward : inside the 'targe...
