Re: How to specify base to check relative links in cse?

Before posting I already gone through the documentation and tried the syntax.
Now is the time for CMS based sites, but the documentation talks only about checking (old age era) html pages existing on disk.
I wonder if I can do such a basic & simple check using CSE.

How to specify base to check relative links in cse?

I understand we can use base property in the html document. But I work on CMS only and all my html pages are without <html> or <body> tags. I've made the changes as below and restarted the CSE but relative link checking starting with index.php are not working. I want to change this url : href="index...

SEO firendly links for forums

I find the free forum software like Mybb and Phpbb are difficult & error prone to make changes like this one. I myself have done it. But Site CMS like Joomla and Drupal allow you to do it in single click. I think you should also make SEO friendly URL's instead of f=6&t=1257 etc. I've done it for Myb...

Pretty Print/Fix does not fix all

I've the flag 180 set and using Strict to validate HTML as you've mentioned steps in: http://www.htmlvalidator.com/CSEForum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1255 But Pretty Fix/Print does not correct tags like <br> <img>. It should change them to <br /> and <img />. Ideally after running Pretty Fix/Print pressin...

Pretty Print/Fix issue

This is sequel to http://www.htmlvalidator.com/CSEForum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1256 which contains some very useful posts and I'd not want to spoil it. I'm talking about this site page which contains html code corrected by Pretty Print/Fix. I'm talking only about the article code( which starts with Ind...

Re: How to check html syntax using DocType:strict

When I'm copy-pasting from cse to text editor then only this question mark(?) is appearing.
But when I checked the same content in the web page, CSE isn't complaining. Strange, I'll get back.

Re: How to check html syntax using DocType:strict

With 180 flag enabled I'm not able to understand the reason of an error. I'm attaching the html file and the snapshot. This code is present in this web page which when I validated with W3C validator gave this message: This document was successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional! Please note that...

Re: How to check html syntax using DocType:strict

What are those options? I wish validation from typed code or from url should give same validation results.

Re: How to check html syntax using DocType:strict

I've done exactly the way you've specified but it isn't giving any error message for this html code:

Code: Select all

<p> hello
Also I see in Validator Engine->Flags->180 is checked

Re: Hiding text and content from search engines

Can you tell if I move a div with left margin of -5000px so that it disappears from the screen then will it be a black hat seo technique?

Re: What do you do/use for SEO?

I've just now started to understand one new seo principle...that your site's ranking in SERP can be directly proportional to user's time spent in site and also how much he/she is satisfied with SERP( does she search again or click SERP?). I think this is easy for a search engine to track. One requir...

CSE Forum issue - title & SEO

I see that you've even covered SEO topics in CSE but this forum itself does not follow SEO principles. The title of all your pages start with: CSE HTML Validator View Topic [main title] Yesterday I had problem in searching questions but I was wondering why Google could not give good results. I see o...

Re: Does Pretty Print/Fix does this

Thanks for you reply. This helps. Can you please tell me side affects in browsers in case(my case) some tags are not closed like p (as per some html standard) when the doctype of the webpage served from my site is Strict? Although I find no issues when I looked cursorily in IE,FF,Opera. Also I made ...

Does Pretty Print/Fix does this

In my site : http://www.indiacustomercare.com almost all of pages are generated by a perl script which does not generate for example closing p tags etc. Here is the sample page: http://www.indiacustomercare.com/hdfc-bank-customer-care-contact-call-center-helpline-numbers On checking this page as per...
