Re: Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a

Here is a more elaborate example: I want to check if this exact coding pattern is followed or not  <div class="wizard"> <ul class="twoStep"> <li> <ul> <li class="step">Step 1</li> <li class="title selected"> <a href="#">Title goes here</a> </li> <li class="description"> Description text goes h...

Re: Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a

Hi Albert, Undoubtedly, I would like to try it :). My trial version for Pro v11 expired yesterday :(. Will I be able to install this new build and use it for a sufficient amount of time? Because I am still in the process of analyzing the tool. Question on the function above: Will this kind of method...

Re: Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a

Hello, If I understand correctly then you could set a new variable like #nextdivmustbexyz=true in onStartTag_div() when class="abc". In onStartTag_div() you would also check to see if #nextdivmustbexyz is true, and if so, then check to make sure that class="xyz" and, if so, set #nextdivmustbexyz=fa...

Re: Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a

Hello, Are you wanting to check that all text that is inside a <div class="abc"> is also contained in a "p" tag? If so, then this should be possible but I think I will have to add another function like onText() that is called whenever there is text encountered in the document. It could then see if ...

Re: Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a

An additional query apart from what I have posted above. If my divclassarray contains a div with class "abc" and I need to check that the div after it (not within it) is of class "xyz". How do I do that? I was tried using #classindex and increment it to get the next DIV but that did not work. Thanks...

Function to check if an HTML element is not nested in a DIV

Hi, I have a function as below: function onStartValidation() { //For DIV #indivcount=0; $divclassarray=''; //For P #inptagcount=0; $ptagclassarray=''; } function onStartTag_div() { #indivcount++; if hasAtt("class") { #classindex=getAttIndex("class"); $classvalue=getAttValue(#classindex); //Methods f...

Re: Please help me with this custom validation rule

Oh Okay. Load it again. Sure, I will give it a try next time. Can you help me with any tutorials you have (for the above syntax) so that I could understand how to create these functions? The above function caters to DIV. I might want to create functions for table/span/div with a particular class/etc...

Re: Please help me with this custom validation rule

Guess what! The function is correct and it worked! I think there is some issue with the tool. The tool somehow did not read the updated .cfg file. I closed the tool, opened it again and re-ran error check - and I got the respective error messages. Can you please check if this issue is happening at y...

Please help me with this custom validation rule

Hi Albert, Below is the function that you provided me on one of my previous posts. I modified it to check for unwanted nesting of columnA/columnB/columnC/columnD/columnE within each other. Bascially our coding pattern prohibits nesting these columns within each other. Below is the code. 1. The troub...

Re: Is it possible to feed in more than one user function?

Hi Albert, We would require 2 - 1. First to test HTML coding patterns for users using 'XYZ' CSS 2. And second to test HTML coding patterns for users who use both 'XYZ' and 'ABC' CSS - so in this case either I could create a copy of the first user function file and add additional functions or simply ...

Is it possible to feed in more than one user function?

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to feed in more than one user function (.cfg) file into CSE HTML Validator Pro v11? Albert passed me the test build for Pro v11 - wherein I was able to feed in my custom validation rules (.cfg) file. However, there is provision to feed in only one file. Is ...
