Re: Windows 10 Edge browser bugs and Windows 10

I just checked in two versions of Edge. The original and a "Canary Build" of the Chromium version. I can confirm that it works in both. Those are versions 44... and 82... Hi Mike, Thanks for checking! I found this link that helps explain Edge version numbers: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/...

Re: Windows 10 Edge browser bugs and Windows 10

Cool! Maybe they'll fix it in 2020.... You posted that back in April of 2016.... and I think you were right! It's been awhile and I just tested again and it looks like it's fixed in Edge/18.18362... and it's 2020! Apparently this version of the Edge browser is "Microsoft Edge version 44 with EdgeHT...

Re: Use <I> or <SPAN> or what?

Hello, It sounds like you've done a lot of research on this! I'll throw my opinions out there. I would not use "i" or any element if it were just for presentation (where CSS would be more appropriate). But if it's a gray area or it's questionable then I think "i" would be fine and so would <span>, s...

Re: numerous false errors in css and js, bootstrap and not

Hello, The next major release of CSS HTML Validator will now recognize the "text-decoration-skip-ink" CSS property and the ":focus-visible" pseudo-class. Here's the new help page for the new experimental text-decoration-skip-ink CSS property: https://www.htmlvalidator.com/help.php?m=1&h=text-decorat...

Re: Bad links in Batch Report

Hello, Sorry, I'm not sure I understand. The bad links are listed for each page in the target's link report which appears under the validation messages for the target. I'm not sure what you mean by them being "unreasonably scattered all over report pages". There is also a ' Master Link Report ' that...

Re: numerous false errors in css and js, bootstrap and not

Hello, Thank you for letting me know. I will update CSS HTML Validator to handle bootstrap.min.css v4.4.1 for the next major release. The next major release will also include any available updates for the 3rd party JavaScript checkers/linters, although I do not know if they will address the problems...

Re: "A Href" link causing an image to change size

This is a Joomla site with a massive css file. My question is why doesn't it do this elsewhere on the site? To my knowledge, there is no css code that limits the size of an "a" element on the site. But I could be wrong. It could be specific to only affecting "a" elements that are children of a "div...

Hello,

Probably something to do with a CSS rule for (or including) the "a" element? Have you checked for that possible issue?

Re: Solution for warning 'No "skip to" link detected' for accessibility

HI Thomas, Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. I'm concerned about making such assumptions about links starting with '#'. I'm not sure if that would be an improvement or not. It's an interesting idea though, and would definitely cut back on the false messages if there are such skip links at ...

Re: Solution for warning 'No "skip to" link detected' for accessibility

Hi Thomas, You are right that the check to disable this message is based on English. I wish I spoke more languages but English is it for me so it is difficult to support/manage other languages, especially without help. I could possibly add some additional checks to disable the message but I would ne...

Re: Can't get rid of a CSS bleed

Hello,

Did you find a solution yet? If not then I may be able to take a quick look and see if I can find anything that would be helpful.

Also, have you tried using Chrome's Developer Tools (Ctrl+Shift+I)?
