Re: External CSS stylesheets

I tried reproducing something like this and I could reproduce the problem as long as I didn't do a forced refresh. If I did a regular refresh then the changes in the CSS file were not picked up. If I used Ctrl+F5 then the CSS was reloaded and I could see the changes from the updated CSS file. If you...

Re: External CSS stylesheets

Yes - every time! Often twice in succession because I didn't believe it the first time. I have no idea then, especially if it just started working for seemingly no reason. I can't think of anything other than a cache issue that would cause that. If you could create something reproducible then someo...

Re: External CSS stylesheets

I’ve just accidentally solved a CSS problem that had been bugging me both yesterday and this morning – but I don’t know how! Can anyone explain the following? I prepared an HTML web page with all the formatting contained in the <style> section of the <head>. When I had got it just the way I wanted ...

Following up, thanks Albert! I saw your post there. And I see there was no response. :(
Unfortunately it doesn't look like this is going to happen... :( but I just left another reply to try again.

Re: How to stop starting up with URL preloaded

Hello,

Could it be the integrated web browser? Is that open? If so then please try closing it (F8 should toggle it) and see if that makes any difference.

Re: Running Batch - Error 10060 -- Status 404 -- Reason Winsock - Connection Time out

Also, if I paste the link in the CSS Validator and do it ouside batch mode, it works. I can do a full validation. Hello, Did you do this using ' File->Open from the Web ' or the integrated web browser? If these links are publicly accessible then I can try to reproduce the problem here if you can se...

Re: Running Batch - Error 10060 -- Status 404 -- Reason Winsock - Connection Time out

Hello Kelley, I'm sorry for the trouble. 1. First, are you using the latest version, v18.02? If using a version from a year or more ago then it may not work with the latest SSL/TLS connection updates (and depending on the server settings). 2. Did you try setting the ' Max concurrent HTTP requests ' ...

Best domain name registrar

What company is your favorite domain name registrar? I used to use GoDaddy but then transferred a lot of my domains to Namecheap. Namecheap is good but I am starting to like namesilo (https://www.namesilo.com/) more and more and plan to transfer domains there as they come up for renewals. Their pric...

Re: Pingdom Web test.

That stinks that the cost is a lot. I can understand how the costs might not be worth the benefits if you have to pay a lot in licensing costs. For me it was mostly just updating the server and software, turning it on, and doing some testing, which just took time. The server is Linux and server is A...

Re: Pingdom Web test.

That's not bad at all. Can't complain about a 99. I noticed no DNS lookup in the graph... I guess it was already cached.

But yes, definitely should go HTTP/2 if you aren't already (your score still looks great to me even if you aren't using HTTP/2 yet).

Re: Pingdom Web test.

Waking this topic back up... I tested my website from Melbourne, Australia (a US site made me wait in a queue then failed). Looks like my current performance grade for www.htmlvalidator.com is "A" (94). Load time is 2.67s... but only faster than 58% of sites (maybe because I checked from the Austral...
