My main editing/creation tool is Adobe Dreamweaver CC. I normally use CSE HTML Validator just for validating files. It would be great to have complete integration between the two, but I don't think they make the software available to developers, or anyone, without a monthly subscription.

That works for me. Using this along with "background-color" is what I've always done so I think your message is correct.

BTW, your support is great. That's why I've upgraded each year since v3.0

That sounds right. How about including it then when with those conditions. Or at least giving me a way to disable that error.

Hard to believe, but according to my logs, I still have customers using my site running Netscape 4.

Dreamweaver MX2004 allow entry of this code and accepts it as valid. This means nothing of course. I actually don't remember exactly why I had to start using it but there was a browser/platform combination that didn't show the background color without layer-background-color. Maybe an earlier version...
