Errors with embedding a youtube video in html/xhtml

As we found out before, the code some larger companies provide, don't always provide a code that is html/xhtml valid. Last time Albert W. found out that the code problem Amazon.com gave, was basically just that all "&" in the code had to be changed to the correct "&". This time it's youtube.com who ...

What's best slider "to the top" code?

Sure someone got more experience than me in this matter, as I'm looking for a script that is correct in html5 standard, and of course don't make problem for the seo work. What I'm looking for is a script for a sliding "to the top" function - be it an up-arrow or text. The "fanciness" is not an issue...

Sure you want more traffic to your site?

This article by Ammon Johns put the finger on an often forgotten part of SEO-work: do you really need traffic, or do you need ROI (return of investment)? Ammon is one of the legends in the SEO-world, and as I'm happy that Albert Wiersch and this forum got a right attitude towards SEO, I want to shar...

Re: Experience with Image Map software - clickable images?

Let me try to make a conclusion (at least personal) when it come to this good discussion about 'map' coding. Based upon the 'KISS'* concept I have tried to strip the map code as much as possible, and this example is the result: <map id=" luxormap_580eng" name="luxormap_580eng "> <area shape="rect" c...

Re: Experience with Image Map software - clickable images?

Thanks Albert, that's great. There were no lowercase option in the Map Designer, but the Ctrl+F6 in CSE did the job (-: Well this is the result of the test when making lowercase with CSE: <img src="luxormap_base4b580eng.jpg" width=580 height=493 border=0 ismap usemap="#luxormap_base4b580eng.jpg"> <m...

Re: Experience with Image Map software - clickable images?

Thanks to both Lou and Mike. I did a bit search on option, and got this shareware (20 days trial) for two reasons - and one is that it got a free online version as well (-: Let me use Mike's setup here: 1. Quick description of what's being tested The software is Map Designer Pro by imagecure.com htt...

So, anyone here that have experience with a good image-map-generator which generate html valid code?

Re: Affiliate links errors/warnings

Agree totally with you. I will BTW inform amazon affiliate service about your easy solution for fixing their links, and tell them about where the fix come from. Both CSE HTML Validator and W3C Validator mark this as not valid. Will let you know any answer from their side. PS - above you wrote "The o...

Re: Affiliate links errors/warnings

Yes, changing all '&' characters to '&' did the trick (-: Agree totally with your sigh about why "so many places give poor HTML that could easily be fixed". One should at least think that large companies as amazon.com would at least take care about their affiliates, so they don't implant bad html in...

Re: Affiliate links errors/warnings

Just a short update here. I have changed the language to "polyglot" and edited the page based upon CSE HTML Validator. Starting to get it fixed, but the remaining problem is affiliate links - here the one generated by Amazon (as mentioned above) <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EYT2UW/r...

Affiliate links errors/warnings

Just got both CSE HTML Validator & TopStyle, and know I will be happy with both programs which I know a bit from before. I have basically been working with HomeSite, and today DreamWeaver - since 1994, and now I'm happy to include CSE and TS to my appreciated tools. Reason for this is first of all t...
