Thanks for your quick reply and action. Can you be more specific about the settings? Are you talking about the Validator Engine Options and importing the options from a file? That will only restore certain settings in the Validator Engine Options. Also, if you did a "full uninstall" of the previous ...

Windows key combinations

Hi, I am a happy user of the new version 9.0 Std. The functional additions are great and the performance is still what should be expected from an advanced editor. (=much faster than Word) Some remarks I have: 1) I requested that version 9 would accept all standard Windows key combinations and have s...

Ampersand in links

Fellow HTMLValidator users, I have a lot of ampersands in my links, like http://website/main.php?a=1&b=2. HTMLValidator does not accept these ampersands, and asks to convert them to &. I couldn't find this requirement in the HTML documentation. And it is extra work for me to constantly convert these...

Opening file in IE is slow while editing a file

Hi fellow users, Do other users have the following problem too? I have had this since version 6.52 and it is getting worse. I have a file open in HTMLValidator. Then I doubleclick on an HTML file in Explorer to see the contents in Internet Explorer. It takes about 6 seconds before the file opens. It...

Hi, Some requests for version 8: 1) checking HTML combined with CSS (so not only separate HTML and separate CSS), f.e.: a CSS tag in HTML should be available in CSS 2) checking Javascript 3) regular expressions also for target of replace, f.e.: it would be great if I could replace two hard returns b...

Small bug version 7.01

Hi, I found a small bug in version 7.01 Standard Version. You receive an unrecoverable (keyboard is locked inside the program) Access Violation when: = you open a file (f.i. by rightclicking the file in Explorer then selecting Edit with HTMLValidator) = before you see the actual content of the file,...

Minor question about special characters

Hi, I create a lot of pages with foreign names. Sometimes I have a problem when copying text from Excel to CSE Std 7.01, with special characters in the names. One example is the character õ (o with tilde on top), which is common in Hungarian names. When I copy 1 Excel cell, containing this character...

No crashes anymore

Hi,

I just want to say that I haven't had my daily crashes (access violations) since I installed version 7.01.

Thanks!

CTRL+DELETE

Hi,

Is there a way to configure the editor to use "normal" Windows behavior for CTRL+DELETE? Normally the next word is deleted, but CSE 7 deletes the rest of the line.
CSE 7 does delete the previous word when using CTRL+BACKSPACE.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi, This happens to me at least 5 times a day. But unfortunately I cannot reproduce it. If the problem occurs the only way to stop it, is to cancel the process in the task manager. Simply clicking OK doesn't help, because you are in an endless loop of errors. Hope you will find what is causing this....

References to style sheets

Hi, I am a happy user of CSE 7 Std. :-) Is there a way to check whether references to CSS are correct? Sometimes I make a typo in the CSS class or id of an HTML tag. CSE does not give an error message in that case. Shouldn't CSE give at least a warning when you use a class that is not defined in the...

Hi Albert, Thanks for the quick response. About the slow start of Internet Explorer. My machine has 1.5GB of memory and it is a 3.2GHz machine, so I don't think that memory is a problem here. I did some more investigations and noticed the following. If I don't have any files open, then starting an H...

Explorer slow when HTMLValidator is active

Hi, I just purchased the 6.53 Standard version of HTMLValidator and I am quite impressed. At the moment I do have some minor problems: 1) (when HTMValidator is open for editing a file) if I click on an HTML file in Windows Explorer, it takes at least 5 seconds before the file opens in Internet Explo...
