Odd tbody error

Albert, I'm getting an odd error A "tbody" section is not allowed here. Because "tr" was already used, "tbody" must not be used. ... There is no <tbody> section in the file. The error is "found" on the 2nd <tr> section in the table. My copy finds it, 14.03 and the online version finds it. http://www...

Guess I hadn't noticed that the validator uses the {F7} dictionaries. Thanks.

Having learned something today, I can now go back to bed. :D

Re: Spell check eternal exceptions

What about a way to add a special HTML comment that contains a list of extra words to ignore from the point of the comment to the end of the document? Note that this would only work for the validator spell checking message and not for an 'F7' spell check in the editor. Albert, I like it. I am a hor...

Re: EMail Address Format

Yes Albert, that is the way I read it too. Back in the dark ages when the HTML mailto construct for a URI was defined (I'm guessing as an added feature) there were not as many concerns about spam, thus the problem from the OP. Though technically an error, it sounds like rayt435 has found that (most)...

Re: EMail Address Format

Reading specifications is not my "natural language" but I thing I found something relevent RFC 5322 Internet Message Format October 2008 Normally, a mailbox is composed of two parts: (1) an optional display name that indicates the name of the recipient (which can be a person or a system) that could ...

No it have not. I run 2 phpBB forums for organizations if there is a problem (on either side of the screen) I would like to be able to explain/correct it.

Yes, preview/submit has been an issue for me when distracted etc.

Re: Experience with Image Map software - clickable images?

Short answer, No I don't. I do have a couple of places where I use image maps. How bad is the html? is it fixable? My experience with auto code generation is that there is 1) lots of junk that can be deleted, or 2) the errors are repetitious, so easy to spot and remove. I have not found it that hard...

Dah! I can use the button for now. Didn't even look over there. Thanks.

Block indent/un-indent

Some time ago block un-indent (shift+Ctrl+U) stopped working. I'm cleaning up some files and its loss is a pain. Shift+Ctrl+I works fine, but when I try Shift+Ctrl+U I get <ul> </ul> rapped around the block of text. I looked for a flag/option that may have gotten turned off but couldn't find one. Or...

Re: RSS feeds

As I said you seem to be good about posting necessary development news here, and the phpBB forum does the RSS update automatically. I'm with you, the one RSS feed I maintained, I gave up for the same reason as you; no good tools (in my price range) although I have not looked for a couple of years. A...

Re: RSS feeds

I do use the forum RSS feed instead of needing to stop by to check activity. If you have another one for the HTML Validator, I guess that answers the question.

By posting updates, etc. here, the forum RSS lets me know about availability, and it's automatic.

Thanks Albert.

What's that line 'after being explained, great scientific discoveries are intuitively obvious.'
Well maybe not a great discovery...

Thanks again.

HTML select with multiple attribute

Got a question about html form, Select and options. One of the <select> attributes is multiple, a "Boolean attribute allows multiple selections." My problem is I can't figure out how to capture the multiple values on the server side handler called when the form is submitted. In fact I can't see that...

Re: :focus on elements that aren't valid

It may not be current but my copy of "Cascading Style Sheets Level 2 Revision 1, (CSS 2.1) Specification," W3C Candidate Recommendation 19 July 2007, defines the following": :link pseudo-class applies for links that have not yet been visited. :visited pseudo-class applies once the link has been visi...
