HTML Validator v10.00.03 Deletes Lines in File!

Randomly v10.00.03 will delete lines from my HTML files. This is happening sufficient times I am strongly considering removing it from my computer as it recently caused me to have to completely rebuild one web page which I had spent an entire day working on! Didn't do a backup of the file first beca...

Re: How do you eliminate the horizontal scroll bar?

When I have scroll=”auto” I get a horizontal scrollbar whether I want one or not. I know that if you make the total screen width less than 100%, it is supposed to solve the problem. I see it in every one else’s code but it doesn’t work for me. Arrrggggghhhh! I need it to work in both full screen mo...

CDATA Error (HTML Validator PRO v0.0302)

I am receiving the following error while checking a web page using javascript: This document contains 1 CDATA section. Using CDATA sections is not recommended due to poor browser support (even some newer browsers fail to properly support it) and due to other complications. AI Internet Solutions reco...

Re: Error 80 With XHTML: No Suggestions

In v9.0, if you disable it (using the message ID function and not the flag) for an "a" element, then it should only be disabled for "a" elements for the doctype you are using. That would be great to be able to turn off only this error. "Using the message ID"??? Can you point me to where in HTML Val...

Re: Error 80 With XHTML: No Suggestions

Yes, I'd expect it to work, it's just not official XHTML 1.1 so CSE HTML Validator generates that message... which you can disable if you just want to ignore it. I was reading the full text of error 80 and noticed it was not only for the target attribute, but a lot of other XHTML things so I'll jus...

Re: Error 80 With XHTML: No Suggestions

I'll have to experiment to see if the target attribute works in v1.1.
Did some testing and the target attribute does work in XHTML v1.1 (using Firefox v3.0.1).

I guess I'll just have to ignore the warning!

Re: Error 80 With XHTML: No Suggestions

I've updated this message to: [80] The following attributes may not be used with the "a" element in an XHTML 1.1 document: "name" and "target". NOTE: There is no official substitute for the "target" attribute. If this functionality is required then consider using a document type that supports it. T...

Error 80 With XHTML: No Suggestions

Received the following error when checking an XHTML file:
[80] The following attributes may not be used with the "a" element in an XHTML 1.1 document: "name" and "target".
How could I code a link so when someone clicks on it they are taken to that URL in a new browser window?

Thanks,

Centering A Division

I am experiencing a problem trying to center a division in an XHTML document.

HTML validator says I can not use <div align="center"> and suggests I use the style of TEXT-ALIGN: Center.

However, that only works for text.

I need to center an entire division.

What to do???

Thanks,

Error Message About Fonts Families Does Not Make Sense

Hi paulp575 For me the message is good and clear. (I've never stepped across font family lines when doing this.) So I guess what it's saying is that I've stepped across font families? The use I can see for something like "helvetica, arial, serif;" would be to show up any machine that lacks both of ...

Error Message About Fonts Families Does Not Make Sense

Version: Pro v8.03 While checking files, the following error message about font families appears: Typefaces from more than one family were given. Typically, for a consistent look, the typefaces should all be from the same font family. Number of serif family typefaces: 1 ("serif"), sans-serif: 2 ("h...

Hello, What about using cmdlineprocessor.exe -b ? It doesn't work now, but I could potentially add it for v8.0. Then you could create a shortcut, even with a Shortcut key and it would load CSE HTML Validator Pro and open the Batch Wizard . That would definitely solve my request! thanks, Paul

Batch Wizard

Would it be possible to add the capabiliy to open the Batch Wizard from a shortcut? I'm using the batch wizard more and more. To get to it I have to click on Start - Programs - Web Tools - HTML Validator. Then Press F2 just to open the Batch Wizard. Yes, I could put a shortcut (to HTML Validator) on...
