Re: How did I get here?

Hi Paul and thanks for the tip, however it is not the broken links that bother me but those links that lead me to an unexpected page within the web site. A page that's not displaying anything may be a well formed xhtml page - unfortunately... My idea was that as the wizard collects the different li...

Re: How did I get here?

Hi, I often use SSI or PHP_INCLUDE on my pages and run through everything in the integrated browser but to click all possible links is not possible so that is where the Batch Wizard comes in. However I sometimes get results for pages that I didn't knew existed. Is there a possibility to see the pag...

Re: Try WinMerge for Comparing HTML Files

This program is so much better than Windiff!

Thanks for telling us about it!

Re: Compare HTML files

As far as I can tell, HTML Validator doesn't offer the ability to compare 2 HTML files side by side to see the differences. Is that correct? Or have I missed something? If it can't do that, do you have any recommendations for software that will? Or, if you are using WinXP (or some earlier versions ...

Script Error Checking

I keep getting an error about not using '<!--' and '-->' in scripts (to keep older browsers from viewing the contents of the script rather than running the script). Problem is, on some scripts, if I insert that code, the script no longer runs!!! Is there a way to avoid this - I don't write the scrip...

Re: Validating Links, Incorrect Case error seems false

I've only just begun playing with the Validate Links feature -- very neat. However, I have a problem. Are there any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong to get these Incorrect Case error messages? You're not doing anything wrong! Beware though, that some web servers use operating systems other t...

Re: Anyone heard an "official" date for XHTML2?

These dates have a tendency to slip past me quite often. I teach at a technical college and am trying to plan for the year ahead. My suspicion is that XHTML2 will be the official standard by next June, but that’s a guess. Any better information than that will be appreciated. Here's the web page fro...

I would encourage droppng support of Win9x since Microsoft has ended all support for 95 and 98 (not sure about ME).

Re: Start Batch Wizard From Shortcut

Is there a way to start the Batch Wizard from a command line or shortcut? Yes! You can use cmdlineprocessor.exe with the -b command. It is documented at http://www.htmlvalidator.com/htmlval/v70/docs/commandlinearguments.html OK, tried it and while it works fine, I can't use it because it keeps aski...
