Re: Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

A little irony. I just realised I can use almost the exact same logic you are to speed up my HtmlMacros program that prepares my website by expanding macros in it. There is nothing to on a page if it has not changed recently and the macro program has not changed recently, with the exception of pages...

Re: Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

I know this is still experimental, but pushing it toward wider use ...
It should check at the beginning if the cache dir exists.

another google markup query

Google adsense asks you to put code like this on your webpage to display an ad. <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;width:728px;height:90px" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7275336356867641" data-ad-slot="5284935692"></ins> HTMLValidator thinks it is fine. HTML parameter Sort

I have written an outline of a HTML tidying utility at http://mindprod.com/project/htmlsort.html.

You might be able to knock it off very quickly given that you already have the code to parse HTML.

placement of <script

W3C says "The SCRIPT element places a script within a document. This element may appear any number of times in the HEAD or BODY of an HTML document."

Do have any thoughts on which is preferable?

both the problem with the missing "luke" cache files is fixed, and so is *\foot\*.

Thank you. It is so fast! I afford to validate everything much more frequently.

Great! it is working now.. oops I spoke too soon *\foot\*;*\include\*;*\snippet\*;*\embellishment\* is letting through files of the form the E:\mindprod\book\foot\9781449311520.html I think it looked like it was working because the cache mechanism was filtering out the foot files. Re: excluding directories

Great! it is working now. Your help says: Strings separated by semicolons; targets that match are NOT processed. I suggest this: Strings separated by semicolons; targets that match are NOT processed. e.g. */include/* to avoid processing all directories named include. similarly for the link exclude. ...

Re: Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

There is a bug in the way you transform filename into names for the cache file. It collapses similar names onto one or for some reason does not build an entry for every file. For example. Here is the contents of my cache. 2014-04-11 11:27 118 E__mindprod_kjv_Luke_1.html 2014-04-11 11:27 118 E__mindp...
