Re: Wish list

The new feature to load up documents with errors only works about 1/5 the time. Otherwise it loads nothing. I have not seen a pattern when it fails other than perhaps long running validates.

Re: Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

There are 2 main issues with this that I can think of: 1. There 'devil is in the details'.. We Java programmers are very comfortable with HashMaps, getting the loaded, saved, saving on error etc. I can see you are running in a 32-bit space, so are likely very concerned about saving RAM. So here is ...

Re: Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

>There doesn't seem to be enough demand for a feature like this. I haven't had any other requests similar to this. 1. There is an implied "make it faster" change request to every computer program. Users presume the vendor is doing the best he can. 2. HTML editor users are not programmers. They don't...

Re: Error message limit

Hello, Sorry, I don't understand. If you set the error limit for 20, then you should see up to 20 errors. Perhaps the errors are in a different tab or page than the one you are looking at? If this doesn't resolve it, then please provide more details. You were right. The errors were in one of the ot...

Adobe Conflict

Adobe Flash http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/flash-o ... butes.html says the width attribute
is mandatory on the EMBED and OBJECT tags. Validator complains about it.

Perhaps you could make an exception for flash.

Are not all my divs balanced, both inside and outside scripts?

Speeding up Batch Validate revisited

I have asked for this many times. It is so simple to do in Java, I find it odd you would not just have knocked it off in C++. It will speed up batch validate 100 fold. My C++ is pretty rusty, but I will try to talk in those terms. Let us say you have 3000 files in a batch. You work for a few days ma...

another spelling request

It would be nice If either
1. I could insert magic comments to make the spell checker ignore some text.
2. I could ok a weird spelling, but only for the current document to be remembered for future.

Error message limit

You can configure how many error or warning messages you want to see. However, if you blow the limit you see NOTHING. You should see the limit error messages. Otherwise you have no clue what the matter is. When you get a large number of errors, chances are they are lots of the same problem. You just...

includes

Some of my files I call "includes". They are fragments of HTML without <html><body>. When I try to validate them I get messages about missing headers and footers. Ways to deal with this: 1. don't validate 2. put some magic comment fore and aft. 3. change the </body> missing error status when validat...

Re: </body> problems

I posted some sample html above. Just take off the </body></html> put your cursor where </body> should be and hit </
it will autocomplete with </div> instead of </body>

batch reports

It would be nice if you put the batch reports in their own directory. That way you could easily erase them all without accidentally deleting some of the permanent files. It would also make them easier to find.

Re: </body> problems

I did as you suggested. Unfortunately the error does not show up with the others, just in grouped.

The </div> completion problem is still there.

It would be nice to also have a variant of this code to treat warnings as errors.

Re: parallelism

I will keep an eye out for specific examples. On some errors the ability to convert an error to a warning or message is grayed out.
