Re: Structural outline?

Hello Tom,

Sorry, CSS HTML Validator does not currently include such a generator.

It is possible that it could be added in a future major update but there does not seem to be enough user desire/demand for it at this point.

Re: noscript alternative to application/ld+json scripts?

Hi Tom, I don't see any reason why that message should be generated unless it's an actual script that will be run/executed like JavaScript. I've addressed this in the next update. Also, it looks like you are using Section 508 accessibility checking. Unless you have a good reason to use that, I would...

Re: Validator throws error when CSS variable is used in border-bottom style rule

Hello Tom,

Yes! It is a bug with the handling of var(). I've fixed it for the next update.

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Re: Possible Media Type error?

I've discovered a similar bug. For a base element like <base href="https://example.com">, the validator throws a link error: Status: Check Media Type Type: meta twitter:url Comment: Expected an image media type but got "text/html; charset=utf-8" instead The <base> element should have nothing to do ...

Re: content attribute with URLs in meta tags

Hello Tom, These links may be helpful: https://schema.org/WebPage https://yandex.com/support/webmaster/schema-org/intro-schema-org.html I think it wants you to use the "link" element for URLs instead. This seems to work: <meta itemprop=description content="Acme company makes things."> <link itemprop...

Re: Max length recommendations

I'm thinking that a custom TNPL script would be best for this. Something like this will generate a warning message for "input" elements of type "text" that don't have a "maxlength" attribute: function onStartTag_input() { if !hasAtt('maxlength') { $inputtype=checkStringEx(3,27,getAttValueEx('type',1...

Re: Max length recommendations

Hi Rick, Do you have any links to a reputable website that suggests/recommends using this attribute and explains why? In any case, you should be able to generate a custom message if this attribute is missing using a TNPL script. If you'd like to do this then let me know and I'd be happy to help. For...

Re: Still developing on a 32-bit OS?

To update this topic, CSS HTML Validator 2019 is officially 64-bit only!

If you still need a 32-bit then I can provide an unofficial 32-bit build if you contact me. Of course CSS HTML Validator 2018 (32-bit) is still available as well to registered users licensed for 2018 or 2019.

Re: The link text "Exercises" has already been used to ..

Hello, I'm sorry for the delay. Technically those are different links because one ends in a slash and one doesn't. If you make them both end in a slash or both not end in a slash then it should fix the accessibility error. Typically, if this is referencing the default file in an "exercises" folder o...

Nigel,

Great! I'm glad it's working now and that Avast found that it was clean.

Re: Editor v.190011 (Std) - Help File

Hi Nigel, I ran the file through virustotal.com and it came back all clean (0/70). I don't know why Avast is complaining... maybe because it hasn't seen the file before and is being over-protective. Maybe Avast did something to it so you couldn't run it. Sometimes I think anti-virus programs are lik...

Re: Editor v.190011 (Std) - Help File

Don't know if it's worth thinking about, but that's what I observed: When selecting "About CSS HTML Validator", it correctly says that I've v19.0011 installed. When checking for updates afterwards, it says that the latest version is already installed, which is v19.0012 , but v19.0012 clearly isn't ...

Re: Editor v.190011 (Std) - Help File

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble. If you re-download the program then you should get v19.0012 even if the 'Check for Updates' feature does not mention that minor update yet. I would start by installing the update and see if that fixes the problem. If not then please let me know.
