Re: CSE HTML Validator Professional v10 BETA & RC Now Availa

Albert I have a licensing question about V10. The way the latest RC announcement above this is worded I got the impression that you are now issuing upgrade licenses for V10. So I went to the upgrade page, entered my email and it reported that I'm qualified for a pro upgrade for $49. So far so good. ...

Re: Many errors

The basic and free HTML Workshop from Microsoft, which compiles html files into a chm file, can also extract the html files from a chm file if that's of any interest to you. It won't include the contents, index, search, or favorites functionality of the chm file but you can get the html files.

Re: Use validator in NoteTab pro as default user on Win7

While I haven't used Windows 7 yet I do use the current version of NoteTab Pro and CSE (beta) and I agree it's probably a permissions issue with NoteTab. I avoid problems like this when I install NoteTab by not letting it install itself in the default C:\Program Files\ folder, instead I install Note...

Re: Validating Google Maps

Ah, I may have found the reason why my setup validated it and yours didn't. I didn't have Nsgmls messages enabled in Options/Validator Engine Options.... And now that I run my .js file code through CSE it also finds many errors, mostly due to missing semicolons. However since every error is in the c...

Re: Validating Google Maps

Lou it was both before and after, and it still validates fine for me. I haven't checked lately to see if I have any CSE flags set/disabled that might cause the difference between your CSE setup and mine, I'll have to check those. I get a 404 error when I try to open: http://www.knob.com/ATG/Calendar...

Re: Validating Google Maps

Hi again Lou,

I just opened your test page in the current beta version of CSE and it validates fine for me....

Re: Validating Google Maps

Hi Lou, By coincidence I'm also developing a site that uses Google Maps. I'm a far cry from being an expert with Google Maps but I've been able to get it to do what I need with no validation problems. However that may be because I'm storing all my vital Google information in external .js files. If y...

Re: Offline Pages Incorrect Case Link status error

Right you are Albert, with your help I just solved the mystery. If I open the page from CSE then the links validate as I'd expect them to. However I do all my html coding in NoteTab Pro and then with a NoteTab clip I'll send the file I'm working on to CSE for validation. And it seems the NoteTab tok...

Offline Pages Incorrect Case Link status error

I don't know if this is a bug in the beta, or whether it's been happening all along but I just noticed if I validate an offline html document, that all of my offline links (such as to a CSS file, images, bookmarks, etc) return a Links Status error of "Incorrect Case". All of my links are lowercase a...

Ah, the link cache. I never thought to reset that.

Ok, thanks Albert, that'll work for me. :)

Manually changing an image size

Hi Albert. I've come across some odd behavior in the current version of CSE Pro (9.03) involving the changing of image sizes. Here is how to duplicate what I see happening: 1. Send an html document to CSE Pro to be validated, have it validate ok. 2. Using Photoshop or whatever, physically resize an ...

Just to follow up since you mentioned my personal web site, the following code is all I have to paste into each of my pages in order to display the buttons and submenus you see there. <script src="menus/xaramenu.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <script menumaker="" src="menus/days.js" type="tex...

The menu buttons on that Xara template page are just examples. When you use the program you create whatever names you want along with whatever you want for submenus. You can have as many or as few buttons and submenus as you want. If I were going to use the menu maker on your web site, I would repla...

Jeanne on my web site I used the Xara Menu Maker program to create the slide out/drop down menus, it's pretty easy to use and doesn't require a lot of knowledge. It creates all the graphics for you and writes the JavaScript code, all I have to do is to paste the code into my web pages. If you're int...
