The PC speed is 3.2 GHz with 1.0 GB of RAM.

Albert,

The CD will be mail tomorrow.

I am wondering if it could be the hub (NetGear FS605 fast Ethernet switch) or the load balancing of the web servers that could cause this.

Albert, It is hard to reproduce the error since they occur sporadically. The methodology I use is as follow: - The site is crawled and downloaded on a PC. - Global search and replace is applied to prepare files. - First pass does Page validation. - Second pass does Links check. I could send you my b...

Thanks Albert for this addition to the Validator.

It will facilitate the fixing of internal bad links since we no longer will have to go thru a big list of bad links.

The external bad links listing we be in a separate report.

Albert, Yes, this is what is happening ... I reversed the order for the mentioned reports and it was the other report that was now not giving the desired results! It's up to you about adding an extra option. I can use the -q for the cmdlineprocessor. Note that some explanation of this behavior could...

Albert, Here is more info. After more testing I found the following ... Why I am getting the desired results while manually executing the batch wizard and not while using the cmdlineprocessor? Using the cmdlineprocessor I was using the following to produce 2 reports, 1 for the internal links and 1 f...

Albert,

Sorry about this ... my setup was only showing the errors. I see that the message for these characters are set as warnings.

Thanks for this new addition to CSE.

Albert,

Does the new Beta v8 can check for characters like the — (Em Dash)?

Which was the idea of my original posting ... to find windows characters in the 130-159 range written as Dagger, En Dash, Em Dash, Small Tilde, etc.

Albert,

As a best practice years ago, we opted to put the filename in a bookmark since older version of Netscape required it to work properly.

From now on, we will no longer put the filename in a bookmark, since it works fine with the recent versions of web browsers.

Thanks,
Daniel.

Inexistent bookmark

Hi Albert,

Did you know that if we use the filename in a bookmark, CSE will not find the error of an inexistent bookmark.

Try to validate this page http://www.informationmanagement.gc.ca/ ... k-test.htm.

Thanks.

Hi Albert, How about being able to split the bad links report into 2 files like - batchreport-int.html for reporting the internal bad links - batchreport-ext.html for reporting the external bad links This might be more practical with the batch wizard ... Currently, to make sure we do not have any in...
