xhtml Strict and inline styles

Also from devedge-temp.mozilla.org , they recommend delimiting inline styles for both text/html and text/xml like this: Which you flag with this error: "In XHTML documents, style and script content must not be in a comment because it t...

Validation and onclick events.

This statement throws up several errors: Submit I get one for incomplete href and another for using both href and onclick. I guess I've always programmed that way since it wouldn't validate in the past. Using href="" throws a...

Excellent.

Of course that's only if the content type is "text/html".

Cdata statements

Boy this place sure was quiet before I came here. Just went thru 140 pages and updated all my inline JS to be similar to this: ... using example #4 from devedge-temp.mozilla.org . I'm usi...

On a related note, this flags as a JavaScript syntax error, I suspect b/c it it's presumed to be empty:

Whitespace in the title.

I have <% ... %> in tags to 'ASP' checked. Here is the flagged code:
<%= Session.GetIcSessionVar("SBN") %> - Trace Request
Here is the error: [118] The text content of the "title" element begins with whitespace. This may not be wanted. Although the server code is ignored, it should no...

Lint warning: missing semicolon

Is that for real?

So I need a semicolon at the end of a line terminated with a brace? :?

...onmouseover=function(){ms.hideCurrent();}}

I think what I'm seeing is the current line has a very slighly darker bg color. When I click on an error in the lower message area, I have to click it about 6 or 7 times to find it in the top. Not as nice as previous version.

I noticed the same problem with validation errors. Very hard to differentiate the color from the background color using Vista.

Link checking

I noticed the links tab after validating and it had the paths all wrong. All the bad links were shown similar to "D:\scripts\filename.js", where the drive letter was right, but that scripts folder should have be more like "d:\web\company1\site1\scripts". I suspect it was "drive letter" + path and fi...

IE View Source

I just installed V8.9913 BETA and happily report that View Source now works to my satisfaction.

When I made V9 my source viewer, I was able to view source in V9 and when I restored the original, I was able to view source in V8 again.

Thanks Albert.
