An amper HTML entity in the META description string

Post by anv2010 »

Hello,

The CSE HTML validator is reporting the following error(s):
Missing quotation mark detected here or near here. If this message is incorrect, then turn off 'Try to recover from mismatched or missing quotes' in the Miscellaneous page of the Validator Engine Options.

...0:00" /><meta name="description" content="Convert minute to month (min to month) and back. Time: month=2.281591125 &#215; 10(in power of -5)&#215;min. min=43 829.0638&#215;month. Definitions and calculation formulas." />
The here is in between min. and min=.

This is the actual META description string:
Convert minute to month (min to month) and back. Time: month=2.281591125 &#215; 10(in power of -5)&#215;min. min=43 829.0638&#215;month. Definitions and calculation formulas.
I think the amper HTML entity variables like &#215; are allowed in the META description tag.

Could you confirm whether or not the CSE HTML validator message is correct?

Thank you!

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble.

The message is not correct... there is no missing quotation mark where CSE HTML Validator thinks there is. You may want to change "min=43" to "min&#61;43" to bypass this problem or turn off the 'Try to recover from mismatched or missing quotes' in the Miscellaneous page of the Validator Engine Options.
