CSE HTML-Validator v12 stopped working

Post by mitkod » Fri Sep 06, 2013 4:21 am

Several years I am working with light (free) version of CSE HTML-Validator.
I am updating versions and now I have V12.0xx.
Unexpectedly, today, "CSE HTML-Validator" stopped working.
The display shows four overlapping windows.
1/ main (editor) window, 2/ '... Error Opening File', 3/ 'A new update<br>A limited time...' 4/ TIPS - window.
Windows overlap and I can not read their contents. I can not close them.
The program does not respond to mouse and keyboard.
I can close "CSE HTML-Validator" only from Task Manager (Win XP).

I would like to continue to use the light version.
I support the site of an academic journal (Comptes rendus de l'Académie bulgare des Sciences" http://www.proceedings.bas.bg/).
If I violated the license, please tell me which version to choose. I do not have much money.

Regards

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble.

I bet that you can't access the window that you need to due to the other windows. I've seen this occasionally happen with various applications.

Usually I can click around the dialogs and use the keyboard to access the 'stuck' dialog when the mouse won't work (like when the buttons are hidden by another window). Have you tried clicking on the dialogs and pressing 'Esc' or 'Enter'?

I assume this problem re-occurs when you relaunch CSE HTML Validator after shutting it down with Task Manager?

If you still can't get it to work, then clearing out the registry of the last-loaded files might work by eliminating the error message. you can delete the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AI Internet Solutions\CSE HTML Validator Lite v6\Editor\Reopen" using the Windows Registry Editor (but be careful not to delete or change something other than that!).

Thank you very much. Your advice helped me. 'Esc' close one (error) window, then I succeeded in closing the rest windows as usual. After that I worked successfully. I apologize for my lack of wits. Thank you.

Great! I'm happy to help and am glad that the keyboard suggestion resolved it. :D
