I installed it to get thumbnails for EPS files, since I don’t have Adobe installed. You also get a context menu to convert to common file formats, like PNG, JPG, etc.

You need to turn on icons to see the thumbnails. (View menu... large icons).

There's also a context menu (right click on an icon) that gives you more info including converting to a different file format and settings. :D
