Print style sheets

Post by RSteinwand » Fri Jun 10, 2016 2:23 pm

I dropped my external print style ages ago and instead just added a @print block in my regular style sheet.

Then I ran into trouble with postloaded css using IE8 (which I loath having to support) where it would display everything as print layout, so back to the external style sheet, which fixes the problem. Modern browsers only download a print style sheet when needed and it's cacheable, so maybe I can tolerate it for now.

Anyway, I ran into these excellent links:

I finally got a chance to look at all those links and ran the CSS through CSE HTML Validator. I was able to make some improvements for the upcoming v17 release.

Rock, if you don't mind, could you send me your print style sheet so I can see what further improvements I can make to CSE HTML Validator (if any)? Thanks!

I glanced over the pages I linked to and I must say, there is lots of good content there... a lot of stuff I should be implementing.

I sent you an email with some css.

Thanks Rick. I got it and plan to look at it soon.

UPDATE: I made some minor tweaks to the output based on the CSS documents that you sent. Thanks again!
